That Feeling

Now:

*When I listen to Jay-Z or Beyonce, I cringe. Music isn't just music. It's either owned by the devil or influenced by God.

*I miss my family. So much. Two more weeks until I'm back in California for Christmas break. I want nothing more than be surrounded by those who know me best <3

*God is calling. I sometimes leave him hangin'. Gotta remember the time I'm living in.

*I am not looking forward to school manana. Thankfully this first semester flew by super fast.

*My camera captures what others don't see.

*Relationships require constant work. Can't settle for being 'comfortable'. Otherwise, you'll lose it.

Nineteen

Thank you to everyone who mailed gifts, called, texted, facebooked, hugged, and greeted me a happy birthday! I really do appreciate it :) It took me 19 years to figure out that spending my birthday with family is the best way possible. Sadly, I'm not in California to do so. They did, however, spend me the prettiest flowers :) Ever since I could remember- my mom placed a bouquet of flowers on my desk the morning of my birthday. Thank you family! I love you!

The morning before my birthday, I was told to get up @ 5:50 AM and drive out to Atlanta with no knowledge of where I was going. Randy surprised me and took me to the BIGGEST aquarium in the world! It was so awesome. Thank you Randy! You always know how to make me smile.... <3

After the Atlanta-filled day, it was dodgeball time :) WestCoast went pretty far! Great job team! Here are photos :)

That hymn

This is the hymnal that I PRAY i can truly wish for. I sing this at church, and then I can't wait to spend my money on new clothes. I enjoy living in a nice neighborhood back home- and don't give thanks to WHO really provided. I say, but don't act. I always come back to this.

A student missionary lost her life yesterday evening in Micronesia. She attended my school, and decided to spend a year out in Yap Adventist School to serve. I can't even fathom the pain her family and friends are going through...

My mind has to get back on track. Really.
"This is not our home. We're just passing through in hopes of surviving, and making it to Jesus' return."

Just thinking about it, the thought of living in this world forever makes me sick.
Everything's getting old. Although I do not partake in x, y, z, I know people are yearning
for something real. Sadly, they're looking in all the wrong places.

I have to search.
Just a thought burdening my heart.

Streets of gold

I was coming out of the science building, and realized I didn't have my umbrella.
I walked out, walked back in, and an older man noticed that I was trying to make an attempt
to walk outside, but decided not to. He asked me if I wanted to walk with him.

"Sure"

He was a physics teacher with some sort of an accent. As we walked,
we passed by a tree shedding its' gold and crimson leaves. He said,

"Sometimes I wonder... when the streets are of gold in heaven, did God indicate that we'd be walking
through golden leaves?"

Something to think about. To me, gold on earth means nothing. Gold in heaven is unnecessary.

Today:

1) Had my persuasive speech. Decided to persuade the audience that cow's milk is unnecessary and gross.
Feed back was good, and I still stand true to my word. Milk is just wrong.

2) Nourished the hungry ducks in front of Southern's campus

3) Sam's Club for packs of h20

4) Drove to a "house" to go bouldering. Pretty neat.
